Dear members of the Wrangell community,
I would like to thank you all for a very warm and friendly welcome to your wonderful community last week!
As many of you know I am the District 36 Republican Candidate for the Alaska House of Representatives. I am a passionate patriot, uncompromisingly committed to defending the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the great State of Alaska. I have entered this race because I believe we need to fight to protect the rule of law and the PFD, reduce our state spending, balance our budget, open our natural resources for economic development, restore sustainable ferry services and improve education.
Prior to moving to Ketchikan in October 2016, I worked for 35 years as a healthcare executive focused on strategic planning and revenue development for large corporations. Over the last three years I have served as the Executive Director of the Greater Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce and am now an elected member of the Ketchikan Gateway School Board. The skills I bring include significant experience in business development, budget management, and success in negotiations. I am a collaborative leader who is very willing to work across the aisles to get the job done.
I learned a tremendous amount about Wrangell during my brief two day stay and I look forward to returning in early July. For additional information about my campaign and schedule, I invite you to explore my website @ www.lesliebeckeralaska.com. Please do not hesitate to email or call me with any questions.
Thank you again for your hospitality and for taking time to share your concerns and thoughts about how to work to open Alaska to its full potential.
